ABOUT US
Introduction
News Hub Group, which runs Politics UK and Politics Global, is focused on delivering independent, impartial political news. Since our team of student volunteers took over in January 2023 under a revised format, we’ve had one goal: to get young people interested in politics. We do this by providing fast, clear, and engaging news to appeal to a younger audience, with 36% of our audience aged 16-14, and 27% aged 25-34.

Bailey Nash-Gardner became the owner of Politics UK in June 2022 following the acquisition of the account from the former owner, whose identity is not published online. In January 2023, Bailey set up News Hub Group Limited with a vision to have several news sources for political news across the world.
He serves as the company’s managing contact for partnerships and more general commercial success.
On July 9 2024, we announced on our X account that Bailey would take on an editorial role at Politics UK, similar to that of our admins. His first project is editing our weekly newsletter ‘The Newslines’ which will launch at the start of October.
In addition to his role at News Hub Group and in the interests of transparency, Bailey is a member of the Conservative Party. He also holds a part-time position with a Conservative Member of Parliament. For further information, please visit his website: www.nashgardner.com.

New projects
Additionally, we’ve recently introduced the Politics UK weekly newsletter, The Newslines. This newsletter will cover what to expect in the coming week and much more. The Newslines will be run by our director, Bailey Nash-Gardner.
Who funds News Hub Group?
Our small group of admins mostly contribute to the account out of our own volition, often during breaks in our university or college studies, as a means to gain valuable experience in our respective postgraduate fields. Lately, X has introduced a monetisation scheme tied to any ads shown in the replies to the posts we create. While the returns are very small – roughly £200 each month – they are divided among all admins based on their level of output. But most importantly, admins engage in this as a fulfilling hobby rather than something to treat as a job or financial gain, but we do have a Patreon page with our own content offering, such as polling analysis and what’s coming up in the week ahead in politics. Alternatively, you can support us by donating through our Kofi page here.
Editorial output & impartiality
Our editorial output is managed by a group of admins who work together on a volunteer basis. We curate tweets from journalists, assess their newsworthiness, and draft a short summary for fellow admins. This process allows other admins to provide feedback on potential impartiality breaches, ensuring that the editorial output is a collaborative effort rather than the product of a single individual. This approach helps to identify and minimise any unconscious bias in the content shared. Note: breaking news may skip this standard owing to immediacy.
The account is committed to using a variety of sources in our reporting. We have implemented an automatic monitoring system that records and tracks news sources which are shared on the account to ensure that we don’t rely too heavily on publications that are politically biased, such as The Telegraph. This allows us to maintain a diverse range of sources for our editorial output. However, it is important to note that left-leaning newspapers may publish more stories due to their connection with the current Labour government, which could result in some days featuring content predominantly from the same newspapers.
Regulation
To ensure impartiality in all editorial output provided by admins, Politics UK and Politics Global is regulated by IMPRESS. If you believe that the we are not upholding this standard, you are welcome to file a complaint on our website.
